Flameproof push-button stations supplied by omega electricals are most suited for chemical, fertilizer, refinery and other process plants where inflammable gases and vapour exit near electrical equipments. In such location arcing associated with electrical apparatus in standard industrial enclosures may prove hazardous. Enclosures are strong enough to withstand internal pressure without damage that may be developed due to internal explosion. They are tested at pressures up to 150 psi [10 kg/cm]. All joints are flanged and are machined to very close tolerances to keep the gap to absolute minimum. Body of the push-button stations is made of close grain cast iron and is free from blowholes imperfections, etc. Terminal boxes are designed to have double cable entry through flameproof glands. Heavy cast iron base is provided so as to make the push-button station self-supporting. Start/stop push-buttons are sturdy in construction and completely shrouded. All fixing bolts are of high tensile steel and shrouded, so that special tools like box spanners are to be used while opening. Two earthing terminals are provided at the base for earthing.
